WHAT IS A PEDORTHIST?

Canadian Certified Pedorthists – C. Ped (C) – are foot orthotic and orthopaedic footwear experts. They are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function.

With specialized education and training in foot orthotics and footwear, Canadian Certified Pedorthists help to alleviate pain, abnormalities and debilitating conditions of the lower limbs and feet.

As proud members of patients’ healthcare teams, Canadian Certified Pedorthists work with physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare providers. The goal of every Canadian Certified Pedorthist is to help patients achieve and maintain proper foot care and lower limb health so they can live healthy, active lives.

IN-HOME AND VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE

The purpose of Nomad is to bring you Pedorthic service with quality care and convenience as top priorities. There are no clinic visits necessary. You can book an in-home assessment that will include biomechanical examination, gait analysis and footwear evaluation by a Canadian Certified Pedorthist. We will create goals and a treatment plan to get you back to the activities you enjoy.

ORTHOTICS DELIVERED AND FIT AT YOUR DOOR

Modern technology has allowed for the rapid evolution of orthotic fabrication. 3D scanning and custom CAD/CAM software has allowed Pedorthists to employ their expertise to provide better custom foot orthotics. The technology is imported from Germany; the orthotics are designed and fabricated in Toronto; and they are then hand-finished by Brad before being delivered to your door.

ONGOING FOLLOW-UP AND CONSULTATION

In the very individualized process of custom foot orthotics, your feedback is very important. Follow-up appointments are conducted to ensure that the orthotics are meeting expectations. Both virtual and in-person appointments are available for follow-ups. Ongoing consultations are also available to discuss any questions or concerns about footwear or foot health.

There are NO extra fees to the service and are covered by all benefits policies.

There are NO commitments when booking an assessment.

We will discuss if foot orthotics are right for you before proceeding.

BRAD MINNS

B.Sc.Kin.(H), C. Ped (C)

Brad is a graduated student-athlete from McMaster University where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology [B.Sc.Kin.(H)]. After graduating from McMaster, Brad furthered his education by completing the Prosthetic & Orthotic Technician program at George Brown College. Although his personal need for foot orthotics exposed him to the field at a young age, this was his first hands-on exposure to the fabrication of a wide range of assistive devices, including custom footwear and orthotics. Brad then decided to pursue the accreditation of Canadian Certified Pedorthist [C. Ped (C)] as an apprentice. So he began working towards his goals and gaining valuable clinical and fabrication experience with both custom footwear and custom foot orthotics. Brad is now a proud member in good standing with both the Pedorthic Association of Canada as well as the College of Pedorthics of Canada. Brad is excited to continue his growth as a healthcare professional in order to better serve those in need.
